“If we’re going to do this for Ashleigh, there needs to be a policy change,” Leigh Allison said.

GRAPEVINE — While the rest of her fifth-grade class was taking Spanish classes mandated by the Grapevine-Colleyville school district curriculum, Ashleigh Allison sat in the Timberline Elementary School library writing a report about France.Ashleigh and her mother, Leigh Allison, say teaching elementary school Spanish only makes life easier for Hispanic immigrants in the community who do not learn or speak English. And Ashleigh shouldn’t be forced to conform, they say.”She wants to be that one voice that forces them to learn English,” Allison said. “We’re not going to turn America into a bilingual country to accommodate you.”

National debate

The Allisons’ stance reflects a larger national debate about immigration and the rising number of Spanish speakers in the United States.

“On the one hand, we’re all for teaching foreign languages,” said K.C. McAlpin, executive director of Virginia-based ProEnglish, which works to preserve English as the common language of the U.S.

“But it would be naive to think that the country does not face the growing threat of bilingualism because of the massive influx of mostly Spanish-speaking immigrants. They’re coming in faster than the country can absorb them.”

Language of choice

Texas’ curriculum requires a school district to offer, “to the extent possible, languages other than English” for elementary- and middle school-age children.

Most districts offer some level of language instruction, said Monica Martinez, curriculum director with the Texas Education Agency. And for most, Spanish is the language of choice. It’s easier to learn and speak than many other languages, and school districts can hire more experienced Spanish teachers than teachers of other languages.

“But it could be French. It could be American Sign Language,” Martinez said. “It’s left to local district discretion to determine what they offer.”

‘Best for kids’

Grapevine-Colleyville elementary students must take Spanish two days a week in nine-week rotations with art classes. It has been a part of the district’s curriculum for 15 years, said district spokeswoman Megan Overman.

“The whole intent is to give students a foundation that we believe broadens their experiences and prepares them for success in our diverse world,” Overman said. “You’re not going to get language acquisition out of elementary Spanish.”

Overman said there has been “little or no objection” to the curriculum from parents or the community. “Our goal is to try to do what we believe is best for kids,” she said.

Views of bilingualism

McAlpin said he worries that in the long run, forcing Spanish on students, and in effect promoting bilingualism, will harm the country.

“Every place in the world where societies have been divided about language, there have been conflicts that many times lead to violence or antagonism that we have so far been able to avoid in this country,” he said. “Why break the successful mold of the melting pot?”

Rudy Rodriguez, retired director of the bilingual education program at the University of North Texas, said exposure to foreign languages at an early age helps children become more comfortable interacting with people from other countries and cultures.

He also said that there are benefits to the “bilingual brain” and that learning a second language actually improves a child’s brain function.

“It is a wonderful, enriching experience for children to have the opportunity to learn a language other than English,” he said. “We’re moving very rapidly into a global economy where boundaries between countries are becoming less distinct.”

Allison said she and her daughter aren’t anti-immigration. They are pro-English language for immigrants.

“This is not saying, you cannot speak your native tongue,” Allison said. “Grasp your tradition and your culture. But when you are outside your front door, you must speak English. We have to understand you.”

Compromise

Ashleigh said she knew the day that she enrolled at Timberline that she didn’t want to take the required Spanish classes.

“There was a lot of Spanish kids and not a lot of other kinds of kids,” she said.

Her mother said: “We were very much the minority. She couldn’t understand anybody and really felt isolated.”

The percentage of Hispanic students at Timberline has increased from 13 percent in 1996 to 54 percent of the school’s 706 students last school year.

At the beginning of November, Allison e-mailed the counselor saying she was “not interested” in Ashleigh’s taking Spanish. Timberline Principal Cody Spielmann replied that Spanish is required by the curriculum and that there were no other options.

“Ashleigh feels the course would be a waste of her time since she has no aspirations in the future to have a career requiring bilingual talents,” Allison wrote to the principal, “nor does she feel compelled to accommodate those who live in our country who refuse to learn the primary and current native tongue of English.”

Allison wanted her daughter to be allowed to study in the library or to take a different foreign language. Allison then appealed to district administrators but got the same response: Ashleigh had to go to class.

Allison kept her daughter out of Spanish class for three weeks, sending her to school an hour late twice a week with a note stating that she was absent because of a “moral objection” to the class.

At the end of December, Allison filed a grievance with the Grapevine-Colleyville school board. But in a pre-hearing meeting, she and Deputy Superintendent Jim Chadwell reached a compromise to allow Ashleigh to study in the library and write a report on a country of her choice.

She learned about the government and food of France and tried to teach herself some common French phrases, but without a teacher, the language is difficult to master. “I was kind of bored because there wasn’t anybody else there,” she said.

‘Policy change’

The curriculum rotation has moved from Spanish to art class at Timberline. But before the year is out, Ashleigh will be faced with the same situation.

Does she plan to take Spanish then? Absolutely not.

Allison said she is scheduled to meet next week with Spielmann and other district administrators to hammer out a better plan for Ashleigh’s alternative class. Instruction in any other language would be acceptable, she said.

Allison suggests an online language course, such as Rosetta Stone. She’ll even pay for it. And she hopes that the discussion yields an option for other students who oppose learning Spanish.

“If we’re going to do this for Ashleigh, there needs to be a policy change,” Allison said.

Overman said the district is willing to work with parents to make decisions about educating their children. While parents shouldn’t expect an overhaul of the district’s world languages curriculum, the district will review it.

Sadly, The Ron Paul rEVOLution is Dead

Super Tuesday was a very interesting night. Mike Huckabee suprised everyone by winning West Virginia and by picking up a couple of states in the south.

The votes were all counted. The people have spoken.

Barack Obama made gains across the US. Hillary Clinton won the “prized” state of California as did McCain. Mitt Romney did not expect Mike Huckabee to do so well as he did tonight. Romney will probably have to think about what direction he needs to take his campaign.

Unfortunately for Ron Paul, tonight was not his night, in spite of how well he did placing second in the Nevada and Lousiana caucuses, he did not win in a single state.

Ron Paul is/was the dark horse internet hyped candidate of 2008. He seems to be out of luck now as the majority of delegates now are to be awarded to the other candidates.

Mike Gravel is still in the race, but his support is dwindling. It doesn’t seem that Ron Paul will get a chance to win the Republican nomination. The reality is if Ron Paul doesn’t have a chance at the Republican nomination for president, he more then likely won’t have a chance at the nomination for vice-president.

Ron Paul scored an average of 4 percent support nationwide, as a comparison in 1988 in the general election he polled at less then 1 percent nationwide, without the support of the todays techonology. It now seems without doubt that the “Ron Paul Revolution” is dead or has run out of steam.

What will the Ron Paul campaign do? What other tricks does it have up it sleeves? It has already used the unique idea of utilizing a blimp. It has already utilized the idea of using aerial forces to spread the message by flying around “blackout” areas where he was not allowed to debate. It has already used the viral force of the internet all to no avail.

To use a Biblical analogy, Saul slew his thousands, but David slew his tens of thousands.

Will Ron Paul’s current support dwindle in the light of the recent election numbers? What will his next steps be? We can only watch the news or check up online to see what will happen next.

Ron Paul has already said that he was 99.9% sure that he would not run as an Independent or as a Libertarian.

As a prediction, more then likely the internet and various media sources across the world will now focus their eyes on Obama, Clinton, McCain and Huckabee however fair or unfair as it may be, as the former candidates of 2008, and 2007 become relics of Alexa’s Wayback Machine and food for Google’s web crawling spiders.

Mitt Romney, Mike Gravel, and Ron Paul will have to put up one major fight in order to win any type of nomination. All in the short term seems unlikely.

Ron Paul is a good man, as are the other candidates, but the world is an unfair place to live.

In spite of negative things occurring in various campaigns, hopefully positive things will await us in the future. God help us.

“Wave of Hate”? More Propaganda From The Treason Lobbyists At La Raza

Anti-migrant hysteria could lead to uprising

The California Coalition for Immigration Reform (CCIR) produced a CD with excerpts of radical, racist speeches by fifteen Latino elected officials, professors, students and community activists, with additional comments by Congressman Tom Tancredo, L.A. Talk Show Host Larry Elder, former CA Governor Gray Davis — ending with disturbing chants by MEChA students. [You may download each individual clip in mp3 format. A link is provided at the end of each individual transcript for your convenience].

These are the verbatim transcripts:

1) Armando Navarro, Prof. Ethnic Studies, UC Riverside at Latino Summit Response to Prop 187, UC Riverside, 1/1995
“These are the critical years for us as a Latino community. We’re in a state of transition. And that transformation is called ‘the browning of America’. Latinos are now becoming the majority. Because I know that time and history is on the side of the Chicano/Latino community. It is changing in the future and in the present the balance of power of this nation. It’s a game – it’s a game of power – who controls it. You (to MEChA students) are like the generals that command armies. We’re in a state of war. This Proposition 187 is a declaration of war against the Latino/Chicano community of this country. They know the demographics. They know that history and time is on our side. As one community, as one people, as one nation within a nation as the community that we are, the Chicano/Latino community of this nation. What this means is a transfer of power. It means control.”

2) Art Torres, former CA state senator, currently Chair of California Democrat Party at UC Riverside 1/1995
“Que viva la causa! It is an honor to be with the new leadership of the Americas, here meeting at UC Riverside. So with 187 on the ballot, what is it going to take for our people to vote – to see us walking into the gas ovens? It is electoral power that is going to make the determination of where we go as a community. And power is not given to you — you have to take it. Remember: 187 is the last gasp of white America in California. Understand that. And people say to me on the Senate floor when I was in the Senate, ‘Why do you fight so hard for affirmative action programs?’ And I tell my white colleagues, ‘because you’re going to need them.'”

3) Jose Angel Gutierrez, Prof. Univ. Texas at Arlington, founder La Raza Unida Party at UC Riverside 1/1995
“The border remains a military zone. We remain a hunted people. Now you think you have a destiny to fulfill in the land that historically has been ours for forty thousand years. And we’re a new Mestizo nation. And they want us to discuss civil rights. Civil rights. What law made by white men to oppress all of us of color, female and male. This is our homeland. We cannot – we will not- and we must not be made illegal in our own homeland. We are not immigrants that came from another country to another country. We are migrants, free to travel the length and breadth of the Americas because we belong here. We are millions. We just have to survive. We have an aging white America. They are not making babies. They are dying. It’s a matter of time. The explosion is in our population.”

4) Bill Richardson, New Mexico Governor, former U.S. Congressman, U.N. Ambassador, U.S. Sect’y of Energy interviewed on radio Latino USA responding to Congressional Immigration Reform legislation in 1996
“There are changing political times where our basic foundations and programs are being attacked, illegal and legal immigration are being unfairly attacked. We have to band together, and that means Latinos in Florida, Cuban-Americans, Mexican-Americans, Puerto Ricans, South Americans, we have to network better – we have to be more politically minded, we have to put aside party and think of ourselves as Latinos, as Hispanics more than we have in the past.”

5) Mario Obledo, founding member/former nat’l director of Mexican-American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF), former CA Sect’y Health/Welfare on Tom Leykis radio talk show
“We’re going to take over all the political institutions in California. In five years the Hispanics are going to be the majority population of this state.” Caller: “You also made the statement that California is going to become a Hispanic state and if anyone doesn’t like it they should leave – did you say that?” Obledo: “I did. They ought to go back to Europe.”

6) CCIR commentary on Mario Obledo
When CCIR, the California Coalition for Immigration Reform, erected a billboard on the California/Arizona border reading, “WELCOME TO CALIFORNIA, THE ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION STATE”, Mario Obledo, infuriated, went to the billboard location and threatened to blow it up or burn it down. Even after this threat to deny American citizens their freedom of speech, President Clinton awarded Obledo the Presidential Medal of Freedom, America’s highest civilian honor. CCIR question to Obledo: “Jose Angel Gutierrez said, ‘We have an aging white America, they are dying, I love it.’ How would you translate that statement?” Obledo: “He’s a good friend of mine. A very smart person.”

7) Richard Alatorre, former Los Angeles City Councilman at Latino Summit conference in Los Angeles opposing CA Prop. 209 ending affirmative action in 9/1996
“Because our numbers are growing, they’re afraid about this great mass of minorities that now live in our community. They’re afraid that we’re going to take over the governmental institutions and other institutions. They are right, we will take them over, and we are not going to go away – we are here to stay, and we are saying ‘ya basta’ (enough!) and we are going to turn… and de… not elect or re-elect people that believe that they are going to advance their political careers on the backs of immigrants and the backs of minorities.”

8) Joe Baca, former CA Assemblymember, currently member of Congress at Latino Summit Response to Prop 187 UC Riverside 1/1995 and Southwest Voter Registration Project annual conference in Los Angeles, 6/1996
“We need more Latinos out there. We must stand up and be counted. We must be together, We must be united. Because if we’re not united you know what’s going to happen? We’re like sticks – we’re broken to pieces. Divided we’re not together. But as a unit they can’t break us. So we’ve got to come together, and if we’re united, si se puede (it can be done) and we will make the changes that are necessary. But we’ve got to do it. We’ve got to stand together, and dammit, don’t let them divide us because that’s what they want to do, is to divide us. And once we’re divided we’re conquered. But when we look out at the audience and we see, you know, la familia, La Raza (the family, our race), you know, it’s a great feeling, isn’t it a good feeling? And you know, I started to think about that and it reminded me of a book that we all read and we all heard about, you know, Paul Revere, and when he was saying, ‘The British are coming, the British are coming!’ Well, the Latinos are coming, the Latinos are coming! And the Latinos are going to vote. So our voices will be heard. So that’s what this agenda is about. It’s about insuring that we increase our numbers. That we increase our numbers at every level. We talk about the Congressional, we talk about the Senate, we talk about board of supervisors, board of education, city councils, commissions, we have got to increase out numbers because the Latinos are coming. Because what’s going on right now, with 187, the CCRI (CA Civil Rights Initiative against affirmative action), and let me tell you, we can’t go back, you know, we’re in a civil war. But we need to be solidified, we need to come together, we must be strong, because united we form a strong body. United we become solidified, united we make a difference, united we make the changes, united Latinos will win throughout California, let’s stick together, que si se puede, que no? (it can be done, right?)

9) Antonio Villaraigosa, Chair of MEChA (student wing of Aztlan movement) at UCLA, former CA assemblymember, former CA Assembly speaker, currently Los Angeles City Councilman at Southwest Voter Registration Project Conference in Los Angeles, 6/1997
“Part of today’s reality has been propositions like 187 (to deny public benefits to illegal aliens, 1994), propositions like 209 (to abolish affirmative action, 1996), the welfare reform bill, which targeted legal immigrants and targeted us as a community. That’s been the midnight. We know that the sunny side of midnight has been the election of a Latino speaker – was the election of Loretta Sanchez, against an arch-conservative, reactionary hate-mongering politician like Congressman Dornan! Today in California in the legislature, we’re engaged in a great debate, where not only were we talking about denying education to the children of undocumented workers, but now we’re talking about whether or not we should provide prenatal care to undocumented mothers. It’s not enough to elect Latino leadership. If they’re supporting legislation that denies the undocumented driver’s licenses, they don’t belong in office, friends. They don’t belong here. If they can’t stand up and say, ‘You know what? I’m not ever going to support a policy that denies prenatal care to the children of undocumented mothers’, they don’t belong here.”

10) Gloria Molina, one of the five in Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors at Southwest Voter Registration Project Conference, 6/1996
“This community is no longer going to stand for it. Because tonight we are organizing across this country in a single mission, in a plan. We are going to organize like we’ve never organized before. We are going to go into our neighborhoods. We are going to register voters. We are going to talk to all of those young people that need to become registered voters and go out to vote and we’re are politicizing every single one of those new citizens that are becoming citizens of this country. And what we are saying is by November we will have one million additional Latino voters in this country, and we’re gonna march, and our vote is going to be important. But I gotta tell you, there’s a lot of people that are saying, ‘I’m gonna go out there and vote because I want to pay them back!’ And this November we are going to remember those that stood with us and we are also going to remember those that have stood against us on the issues of immigration, on the issues of education, on the issues of health care, on the issues of the minimum wage.”

11) Vicky Castro, former member of Los Angeles Board of Education at Southwest Voter Registration Project Conference, 6/1996
“Que viva la raza, que viva la raza (long live our race)! I’m here to welcome all the new voters of 18 years old that we’re registering now in our schools. Welcome, you’re going to make a difference for Los Angeles, for San Antonio, for New York, and I thank Southwest for taking that challenge. And to the Mechistas (MEChA students) across this nation, you’re going to make that difference for us, too. But when we register one more million voters I will not be the only Latina on the Board of Education of Los Angeles. And let me tell you here, no one will dismantle bilingual education in the United States of America. No one will deny an education to any child, especially Latino children. As you know, in Los Angeles we make up 70% of this school district. Of 600,000 — 400,000 are Latinos, and our parents are not heard and they’re going to be heard because in Los Angeles, San Antonio and Texas we have just classified 53,000 new citizens in one year that are going to be felt in November!”

12) Ruben Zacarias, former superintendent of Los Angeles Unified School District at Southwest Voter Registration Project Conference, 6/1997
“We have 27 centers now throughout LAUSD. Every one of them has trained people, clerks to take the fingerprints. Each one has the camera, that special camera. We have the application forms. And I’ll tell you what we’ve done with I.N.S. Now we’re even doing the testing that usually people had to go to INS to take, and pretty soon, hopefully, we’ll do the final interviews in our schools. Incidentally, I started this very quietly because there are those that if they knew that we were creating a whole new cadre of brand new citizens it would have tremendous political impact. We will change the political panorama not only of L.A., but L.A. County and the State. And we do that we’ve changed the panorama of the nation. I’m proud to stand here and tell you that in those close to three years we have processed a little over 78,000 brand new citizens. That is the largest citizenship program in the entire nation.”

13) Ernesto Zedillo, former president of Mexico announcing the Mexican constitutional amendment allowing for dual citizenship on 6/23/97
“I have proudly affirmed that the Mexican national extends beyond the territory enclosed by its borders, and that Mexican migrants are an important – a very important part of it. For that reason my government proposed a constitutional amendment to allow any Mexican with the right as he desires to acquire another nationality to do so without being forced to first give up his or her Mexican nationality. fortunately, the amendment was passed almost unanimously by our federal Congress and is now part of our constitution. I am also here today to tell you that we want you to take pride in what each and every one of your Mexican brothers and sisters are doing back home.

14) Augustin Cebada, Information Minister of Brown Berets, militant para-military soldiers of Aztlan shouting at U.S. citizens at an Independence Day rally in Los Angeles, 7/4/96
“Augustin Cebada, Brown Berets, we’re here today to show L.A., show the minority people here, the Anglo-Saxons, that we are here, the majority, we’re here to stay. We do the work in this city, we take care of the spoiled brat children, we clean their offices, we pick the food, we do the manufacturing in the factories of L.A., we are the majority here and we are not going to be pushed around. We’re here in Westwood, this is the fourth time we’ve been here in the last two months, to show white Anglo-Saxon Protestant L.A., the few of you who remain, that we are the majority, and we claim this land as ours, sit’s always been ours, and we’re still here, and none of the talk about deporting. If anyone’s going to be deported it’s going to be you! Go back to Simi Valley, you skunks! Go back to Woodland Hills! Go back to Boston! To back to the Plymouth Rock, Pilgrims! Get out! We are the future. You’re old and tired. Go on. We have beaten you, leave like beaten rats. You old white people, it is your duty to die. Even their own ethicists say that they should die, that they have a duty to die. They’re taking up too much space, too much air. We are the majority in L.A. There’s over seven million Mexicans in L.A. County alone. We are the majority. And you’re going to see every day more and more of it, as we manifest as our young people grow up, graduate from high school, go on to college and start taking over this society. The vast majority of our people are under the age of 15 years old. Right now we’re already controlling those elections, whether it’s by violence or nonviolence. Through love of having children we’re going to take over.” Other demonstrators: “Raza fuerza (brown race power), this is Aztlan, this is Mexico. They’re the pilgrims on our land. Go back to the Nina, the Pinta, the Santa Maria.”

15) Fabian Nunez, formerly Alliance for Immigrant Rights, political liaison for L.A. School District, currently Speaker of the CA Assembly at Latino Summit Response to Prop 187 at UC Riverside, 1/1995
“There’s only two forms of power in this country and in this world. One is economic power, We certainly don’t have the economic power because we don’t own the means of production, but there’s another form of power, and that’s the power of the masses. So you can be as revolutionary as you want, you can be Chicano nationalist, you can be Mexican-American, you can be Hispanic, you can believe in the concept of Aztlan, you can believe in the concept of multi-culturalism. Somebody can say ‘Everybody here is wrong, I am the only one that has reached revolutionary completeness’. But the bottom line is that if we do not mobilize our community we are not putting together a setting – the parameters to establish a massive movement in our community. That’s what this is about. And that’s why I am here today – to talk about who here wants to organize the masses, and who here is interested in developing that movement that somebody earlier said that the sleeping giant is in a coma. I’ll tell you that on October 16 (“Grande Marcha” against Prop. 187) 150,000 representatives from the sleeping giant were not in a coma but rather were marching down the streets of Los Angeles saying that enough is enough and we’re no longer going to tolerate the racism against our community. The very essence of the dignity of our community is in danger right now. Luckily, we don’t have to give our lives. We’re not at that point, but we can give a little. What I would like to ask everybody here to give is not necessarily your life, but to give one moment of thought to what the importance of a national march on Washington DC in 1996 would mean for the mass movement of our community. Get ten people, ten people ready to go with us to that march to Washington DC in ’96, and I guarantee you, just as we mobilized 150 (sic) people into the streets of Los Angeles on October 16, we can mobilize one million people and bring Washington to a standstill, and those rednecks that are out there making decisions for the betterment of their communities will think twice before they push forward anti-immigrant legislation against our community. And so that we can show our people that the time has come for us to come together on what brings us together instead of to sit down and bump heads. And I tell the students in the colleges, if you’re still debating the question of whether they’re Chicanos or Mexicanos, or Chicano/Mexicano, we’re not learning from the lessons of ten, fifteen years ago. The time has come for unity – there’s too many things that separate people, but we have to begin to look at what brings us together. And so I ask everybody here, how many of you agree if we can leave here with one thing today, that in 1996 we are going to Washington DC on a mass mobilization there to bring Washington to a standstill so that they know that we’re there and that we begin to put into place those things that are necessary to insure that we advance the interests of our community. Raise your hands, those of you that agree with what I’m saying.”

16) Larry Elder, L.A. radio talk show host reads a letter from one of his listeners:
“Dear Larry, I spent ten years as a cruise hostess working at sea on cruise ships all over the world, so many of my assignments were to the Mexican Riviera, going back to the destination over and over again working friendships with many of the local people working along side of us in the Mexican tourist industry. Larry, the one phrase I heard a hundred times or more was, ‘When the revolution is over.’ When I asked for information, always the same answer, ‘When they have California back.’ Young or old, it seems they grew up being taught there would be a revolution some day. Somehow they would have California back.”

17) Tom Tancredo, U.S. Congressman from Colorado,, speaking on CSPAN, 6/27/2001
“In the June 21 issue of Time Magazine, the lead story of which is titled, “AMEXICA”. It describes the de facto elimination of the border between Mexico and the United States. I believe that the debate revolving around our immigration policy should reflect the fact that this phenomenon is underway. President Fox (of Mexico) yesterday stated that he came to the United States to “play a more active role in establishing the new international architecture”. I believe that this new “international architecture” can be described as AMEXICA.

John McCain: George Soros’ Useful Idiot?

“The main obstacle to a stable and just world order is the United States.” George Soros

Many believe George Soros is out to destroy America’s Constitution and sovereignty. From the anti-2nd amendment gun control group, Americans for Gun Safety to the anti-free speech McCain-Feingold Finance Reform Act, John McCain has been carrying out marching orders from Soros, enriching his Reform Institute and his campaign coffers while riding Soros’ coattails to national prominence as the mainstream media darling, ‘Maverick’ Senator McCain.

The ambitious Soros has a goal of rewriting the United States Constitution by the year 2020. He has funded efforts for a world-wide gun ban instituted through the United Nations as well as borderless nations, legalizing illicit drugs and his ultimate goal of a world government controlled by the U.N. Does John McCain share his lofty goals?

The McCain-Feingold legislation was an idea devised by the brilliant Mr. Soros. The Act stopped ‘soft’ money contributions to the Democrat and Republican parties, as well as putting limits on free speech by not permitting a candidate’s name to be used in ads 60 days prior to general elections and 30 days prior to primary elections. This Act bankrupted the Democratic Party because, unlike the Republican Party, the Democratic Party was primarily financed by ‘soft’ money donations from large groups such as Unions. The Republican Party, by contrast, receives most of its funds from individuals in the form of ‘hard’ money, small donations.

George Soros had discovered a way to make the Democrat Party beholden to him through an obvious loophole (large enough to drive a Mexican truck through) in the law, establishing what is known as 527 groups, after the section in the tax code. With Democratic donations dried up after the passage of McCain-Feingold, George Soros and his billionaire buddies founded several 527s privately and stealthily. 527s are unlimited in terms of contributions, unregulated, and can be used to run politic ads and fund other activities related to issues. Therein lies its brilliance. It could be said that George Soros now owns the Democratic Party because he controls the money they once received through big donor donations. And, thus he controls the agenda. He has established what is now considered the ‘Shadow Party’, a party within the Democrat Party.

When Soros was looking for a vehicle to bring this scheme to fruition, who was standing with his hand extended? Senator John McCain. And, richly rewarded he was. During the 2000 political season John McCain and Russ Feingold attended the two so-called ‘Shadow Conventions’ that Soros sponsored. McCain, who is desperately attempting to retain his false title of ‘Republican’, was the keynote speaker at the ultra-liberal Philadelphia convention while Feingold spoke at the Los Angeles event. Low and behold, in 2001, John McCain founded the Reform Institute largely funded by a huge donation from George Soros’ Open Society Institute and his Tides Foundation.

The Reform Institute from which John McCain resigned in 2005, no doubt to pursue his run for the presidency, is dedicated to advancing the Soros agenda despised by most Conservatives and many mainstream Americans. Their goals include amnesty, a borderless North America dissolving a sovereign USA, open Republican primaries which would have Democrats and Independents determining the Republican Presidential Candidate, thereby putting the final nail in the Republican Party’s coffin. For examples of how the institute feels regarding mass amnesty of illegal aliens in the United States, look at the student art work awarded for mocking the border fence, posted by Michelle Malkin, who has shined light on the Soros/McCain connection over the past week.

Most damning is McCain’s Reform Institute fellow, Juan Hernandez, who is an open-border lobbyist and former Mexican government cabinet member. Working for Presidente Vicente Fox, he was the Director of the Office of Mexicans Living Abroad. He is described in his bio at McCain’s Reform Institute as being an American, but actually has dual citizenship with Mexico and has feverishly lobbied for amnesty. Juan Hernandez with his extremist views on illegal immigration and open borders, is also the John McCain presidential campaign’s Hispanic Outreach Director. One does not have to be a rocket scientist to see that McCain has never veered off of his path to amnesty.

America’s 2nd Amendment is on the McCain-Soros’ chopping block. According to an interesting observation posted on the blog, The Provocateur, Soros’ definition of a terrorist rarely strays beyond considering the word semantically equivalent to any “American citizen who owns a firearm” . Soros is funding many, if not all, anti-gun groups in the United States and throughout the world via his financial support of anti-gun bans which he initiates in the United Nations. Why? According to Judge Napolitano, in his book Constitutional Chaos, the original intent of the 2nd amendment was not only to protect the citizenry from intruders and other criminals but more importantly from the government itself. Napolitano also points out that every government takeover has been the result of a disarmed citizenry.

A little known fact is that McCain has quietly endorsed George Soros’ anti-2nd amendment gun control position, going so far as to do an advertisement for the Soros funded pro-gun control group, Americans for Gun Safety. Campaigning against gun shows to promote the McCain-Lieberman Gun Show Control Bill of 2004, the advertisement carried multiple misleading statements as explained by Dave Kopel writing in the National Review Online in an article titled, “Gun Games: Truth is a casuality of the anti-gun cause.” The McCain-Lieberman Gun Show Law would have greatly expanded the Brady Bill and the Bureau of Tobacco and Firearms (BATF) while continuing to fund new gun control laws. Important to note is that the highly respected Gun Owners of America has been exposing McCain’s anti-2nd Amendment agenda for quite some time. Read GOA’s Take on John McCain and John McCain’s Gun Control Problem. Prior to 2000, the beginning of his relationship with Soros, McCain went from being a supporter of the 2nd Amendment to being a lead sponsor of anti-gun bills.

McCain has consistently taken positions against Republicans and Conservatives in Congress, often flip-flopping on formerly Conservative positions. Do Republicans want their Presidential nominee, this so-called ‘Maverick’ McCain, who is beholden to the likes of the George Soros and what many believe is a campaign against our US Constitution and sovereignty?

Author: Jim Kouri

United States Attorney Johnny Sutton and FBI Special Agent in Charge Ralph Diaz announced the indictment of 23 San Antonio residents, all of whom are in leadership positions in the Texas Mexican Mafia, for violating the federal Racketeering Influenced Corrupt Organization (RICO) statute.

“Intimidation, violence and murder are standard operating procedure for these gangsters. This indictment is the first step in putting them out of business,” stated United States Attorney Johnny Sutton. “Since 2004, our office has put over 130 members of the Mexican Mafia in federal prison and we are committed to disrupting and dismantling this criminal organization.”

Federal and state authorities arrested TMM Captain Michael Vargas, aka “Mikio,” without incident late yesterday afternoon. Seventeen defendants charged in this indictment were already in custody prior to today. They are:

Jacinto Navajar, aka “Cache”, TMM General Ruben Garcia, aka “Chorre”, TMM Sergeant Ted Ansualda, aka “Porky”, TMM Lieutenant Trinidad Gomez, aka “Trini Boy”, TMM soldier Jesse Ramirez, aka “Chuy”, TMM Captain Billy Silva, aka “Wild Bill”, TMM Asst. General Leonard Tremillo, aka “Joker”, TMM Lieutenant Vidal Longoria, aka “Corky”, TMM Lieutenant Jose Martinez, aka “Bam Bam”, TMM Lieutenant Joe Pena, aka “Pancho”, TMM General Hector Martinez, TMM soldier Jesse Ozuna, aka “Low”, TMM Lieutenant Mark Alvarado, aka “Kickback”, TMM soldier Trinidad Riojas, aka “Trini”, TMM Lieutenant Mike Garcia, TMM Lieutenant Carlos Ybarra, aka “Charlio”, TMM Lieutenant Jesse Rodriguez, aka “Chuy”, TMM Sergeant Authorities are actively searching for the five remaining defendants.

The one-count federal indictment, returned on January 29, 2008, and unsealed on February 1, alleges that the defendants conspired together to further their criminal enterprise by committing 22 murders, 2 attempted murders, 1 solicitation to commit capital murder, robbery and extortion plus distributing heroin and cocaine. Upon conviction, each defendant faces life in federal prison.

Racketeering Acts:

The indictment alleges a pattern of racketeering activity committed by the defendants including the:

• shooting death of Florencio “Lencho” Vasquez in September 2000; • shooting death of Anthony “Tony” Blanco in November 2000; • robbery and subsequent shooting death Michael Sanchez in March 2001; • shooting death of Ruben Hernandez in January 2002; • shooting death of Ernest Guzman in May 2002; • shooting death of Jose “Arte” Moreno in June 2002; • shooting death of Henry “Guero” Cantu in December 2002; • shooting death of Agustin “Augie” Macias in July 2003; • shooting death of Jose “Speedy” Lopez in July 2003; • shooting death of Raymond “Mon” “Nochipa” Rodriguez in September 2003; • shooting death of Jesse “Psych” Medina in February 2004; • shooting death of Robert “Beto” Gleason in March 2004; • shooting death of Robert “Robe” Murillo Fernandez in August 2004; • shooting death of Jesse “Pelon” Guevara in August 2004; • shooting death of Mercy Brooks in September 2004; • shooting death of Tony Rodriguez in November 2004; • shooting death of Juan “Green” Perez in December 2004; • shooting death of Roy Vera in December 2004; • shooting death of Joe Santos in November 2004; • shooting death of Rudy “Scooby” Contreras in January 2005; • shooting death of Hector Martinez in January 2005; • shooting death of Robert Sanchez in April 2005; • attempted murder of Ruben Rodriguez in January 2002; • attempted murder of Ernesto “Neto” Rodriguez in June 2007; • solicitation of the capital murder of Lydia Castro in January 2003; • obtain large amounts of heroin and cocaine for further distribution and sale; • control the distribution of heroin and cocaine by restricting drug trafficking among non-Texas Mexican Mafia members to those who paid extortion fees or a “tax;” • protect “authorized” drug distributors from robbery, violence and competition; and, • using violence in all forms and degrees to enforce the Texas Mexican Mafia drug distribution “tax.”

The Mexican Mafia was formed in the early 1980’s in the Texas prison system when predominantly Hispanic inmates banded together during a period of turmoil and violence within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

Over the years, the gang has focused its efforts to promote widespread criminal activity including narcotics trafficking, extortion and murder. Also known as “Mexikanemi” or “La Eme,” the organization was the subject of a 1993 federal indictment in the Western District of Texas which resulted in the conviction of Heriberto “Herb” Huerta, the then President of the organization, and a number of his fellow gang members on drug charges.

In 1998, another federal indictment resulted in the conviction of Robert “Beaver” Perez, a Mexican Mafia General, and 15 other fellow gang members for their pattern of racketeering activity including six murders committed in 1994 and 1995 in the City of San Antonio and eight murders allegedly committed by gang members in 1997. The 1997 homicides included the shotgun killing of five people at a residence on West French Place on August 8, 1997.

In 2004, 25 members of the Mexican Mafia were indicted and convicted of federal drug, firearm and money laundering charges. During the time of the conspiracy, the organization was responsible for distributing over 150 kilograms of cocaine and over 30 kilograms of heroin. Authorities also seized approximately 80 firearms and approximately $50,000 in cash.
