Super Tuesday was a very interesting night. Mike Huckabee suprised everyone by winning West Virginia and by picking up a couple of states in the south.

The votes were all counted. The people have spoken.

Barack Obama made gains across the US. Hillary Clinton won the “prized” state of California as did McCain. Mitt Romney did not expect Mike Huckabee to do so well as he did tonight. Romney will probably have to think about what direction he needs to take his campaign.

Unfortunately for Ron Paul, tonight was not his night, in spite of how well he did placing second in the Nevada and Lousiana caucuses, he did not win in a single state.

Ron Paul is/was the dark horse internet hyped candidate of 2008. He seems to be out of luck now as the majority of delegates now are to be awarded to the other candidates.

Mike Gravel is still in the race, but his support is dwindling. It doesn’t seem that Ron Paul will get a chance to win the Republican nomination. The reality is if Ron Paul doesn’t have a chance at the Republican nomination for president, he more then likely won’t have a chance at the nomination for vice-president.

Ron Paul scored an average of 4 percent support nationwide, as a comparison in 1988 in the general election he polled at less then 1 percent nationwide, without the support of the todays techonology. It now seems without doubt that the “Ron Paul Revolution” is dead or has run out of steam.

What will the Ron Paul campaign do? What other tricks does it have up it sleeves? It has already used the unique idea of utilizing a blimp. It has already utilized the idea of using aerial forces to spread the message by flying around “blackout” areas where he was not allowed to debate. It has already used the viral force of the internet all to no avail.

To use a Biblical analogy, Saul slew his thousands, but David slew his tens of thousands.

Will Ron Paul’s current support dwindle in the light of the recent election numbers? What will his next steps be? We can only watch the news or check up online to see what will happen next.

Ron Paul has already said that he was 99.9% sure that he would not run as an Independent or as a Libertarian.

As a prediction, more then likely the internet and various media sources across the world will now focus their eyes on Obama, Clinton, McCain and Huckabee however fair or unfair as it may be, as the former candidates of 2008, and 2007 become relics of Alexa’s Wayback Machine and food for Google’s web crawling spiders.

Mitt Romney, Mike Gravel, and Ron Paul will have to put up one major fight in order to win any type of nomination. All in the short term seems unlikely.

Ron Paul is a good man, as are the other candidates, but the world is an unfair place to live.

In spite of negative things occurring in various campaigns, hopefully positive things will await us in the future. God help us.

Ron Paul Signs ‘Numbers USA’ Pledge to Oppose Amnesty and Secure America’s Borders

“The talk must stop. We must secure our borders now. A nation without secure borders is no nation at all.”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

February 4, 2008

ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA – Today, Republican presidential candidate and Texas Congressman Ron Paul signed the Numbers USA pledge.  The pledge reaffirms Congressman Paul’s longstanding opposition to amnesty and support for securing the borders.

Dr. Paul has introduced a six-point plan to deal with the current illegal immigration problem.  On the subject, he has said: “The talk must stop. We must secure our borders now. A nation without secure borders is no nation at all.”

Congressman Paul has received the endorsements of many groups and leaders that oppose illegal immigration. A list of such endorsements can be found at: www.ronpaul2008.com/endorsements

Below is the Numbers USA pledge:

I pledge to oppose amnesty or any other special path to citizenship for the millions of foreign nationals unlawfully present in the United States. As President, I will fully implement enforcement measures that, over time, will lead to the attrition of our illegal immigrant population. I also pledge to make security of our borders a top priority of my administration.

Numbers USA includes six points of understanding as to what the pledge means and what it entails:

1. The 12 million illegal aliens now here will have to go home.

2. They will not get any legal status while here that allows them to remain long-term.

3. Once in their home countries, they may apply for re-admittance to the U.S. as immigrants, visitors or temporary workers through normal channels.

4. But they will not receive any special privileges on the basis of their having been in the U.S. illegally, such as being put to the front of a line.

5. There will be no new categories or programs through which they may re-enter.

6. There will not be an expansion of green cards in any existing categories that will speed up their movement to the front of the line.

Ron Paul Snubbed, John McCain Endorsed

Posted in 2008, Campaign, Constitution, Democrats, elections, Freedom, GOP, Liberty, Patriotism, Politics, Ron Paul, Sovereignty, U.S. Government, Voters, War on February 2, 2008 by americanchaos

Early in the race for the Republican nomination it was thought for sure Ron Paul would receive this endorsement, instead it has gone to Senator John McCain.
by Gary Wood

In a sudden development John McCain was able to secure yet another endorsement. We all have seen how much Senator McCain enjoys collecting endorsements and using them as trump cards on key issues. This latest card he’s received will allow him to trump many an argument by simply pulling it out and saying, “I’m proud of my record, they’re obviously proud of my record (pointing to the trump card), that’s the way it is and that’s just a little straight-talk.”

Congressman Ron Paul, celebrating his 51st wedding anniversary today, did not seem particularly remorse over losing the endorsement. Despite early odds makers saying he would no doubt get the nod by this group a long campaign showed it was not to be. The longer Dr. Paul stayed on the campaign trail the clearer it became; his message is simply more powerful than initially thought and if he were to win the Republican nomination for President it would be unlikely the group today endorsing John McCain could win.

The group is none other than the Democratic Party. A key turning point for who to endorse came when Governor Mitt Romney pointed out several key pieces of legislature their good friend John McCain helped sponsor. McCain-Feingold Bi-Partisan Campaign Finance Reform Act, Lieberman-McCain Climate Stewardship Act , and McCain-Kennedy Secure America and Orderly Immigration Act all were strong indicators that not only can McCain reach across the aisle, he often is willing to embrace more liberal domestic positions.

According to a statement released, “We have changed positions on who we will endorse for President. Nothing against Dr. Paul but John McCain is ready to become a liberal from day one. We don’t believe that will be necessary as we are confident our nominee will win the White House this year with John McCain leading the Republican ticket, but just in case he wins its nice to know he’ll be ready to join us on all domestic issues. If we would have formally endorsed Ron Paul and if he would have gone on to win the Republican nomination we would have to face tough debates on liberty vs. socialized programs and we simply weren’t prepared for that debate. His message is proving too popular and is awakening a portion of this country that frankly doesn’t need awakening. It’s like the Japanese waking up the United States on that day of infamy. We would like to see Dr. Paul’s message fade as it is not in keeping with the heart of the Democratic Party’s platform. We know exactly what to expect in the debates from John, we’ve studied his short playbook, we anticipate we will allow him to perform as he has recently in the debates. Ron Paul in a two man/woman debate is not a force we care to deal with as it would be nearly impossible to avoid him the entire time. John McCain poses no threat to our base and we respect his strong liberal views. We look forward to competing and defeating him during the general elections this year. After the campaign we hope he will continue to support our domestic agenda.”

Who can blame the Democratic Party for wanting to endorse McCain over Paul? Ron Paul represents liberty and freedom with tough positions on immigration, taxation, monetary policies, and more. About the only thing the Democrats and Ron Paul agree on is ending the war against Iraq yet even the Democrats are not ready to fully embrace non-interventionism. For those reading this far the above represents nothing more than a political opinion, the endorsement is not real and the quotes are fictitious. However, the reality is clear, John McCain poses little threat to a Democratic victory come November while Ron Paul would be difficult to stop once he was allowed to actually articulate his message in the mass media.
