Congress Poised to Give Tax Rebates to Illegal Aliens
Call Your Senators Now!

January 30, 2008

The economic stimulus package traveling through Congress right now does nothing to stop the IRS from issuing rebate checks to illegal aliens. Please call your Senators now and urge them to take action!

Yesterday, the House of Representatives passed H.R.5140, the economic stimulus package, by a vote of 385-35. As many of you have already learned from news outlets, the economic package includes tax rebates of $600 for individual taxpayers and $1,200 for couples. However, this package—thrown together within days—allows the IRS to send tax rebate checks to illegal aliens!

The issue stems from defining who is eligible for a tax rebate. In drafting H.R.5140, Congress left gaping loopholes. Section 101 excludes “nonresident aliens” from being eligible, but this is essentially meaningless as the IRS does not determine whether an individual is a “nonresident alien” based on his or her immigration status. Moreover, it does not address the eligibility of illegal aliens who send in tax returns using stolen or false social security numbers.

At a minimum, the IRS should be required to screen the numbers (whether individual taxpayer identification numbers (ITINs) or social security numbers (SSNs)) used to issue the checks to ensure they match the name of the taxpayer in question. If a name and number do not match, the IRS should be prohibited from issuing a tax rebate check. Senator John Ensign (R-NV) has filed an amendment to affect this change, but we do not know whether he will even be allowed to offer it.

H.R.5140 is now in the Senate and will go through the Senate Finance Committee this afternoon. From there, Senate staffers indicate it will go quickly to the floor. PLEASE TAKE ACTION NOW!

We urge all FAIR members, activists and friends to call their Senators now and urge them to fix the loopholes in H.R. 5140 that allow illegal aliens to get tax rebate checks. After calling your own Senators, please call the Senators who sit on the Finance Committee and urge them to take action too.

By Frosty Wooldridge

In this second of a three part interview, Michael Folkerth’s book: “THE BIGGEST LIE EVER BELIEVED” exposes America’s greatest crisis—growth. He epitomizes a humorous economist and the “King of Simple.”

Folkerth states this nation resembles a group of people boarding an airplane that expects a six hour flight to the destination, but the ground crew only pumped in four hours flying time of fuel. Everything will ‘appear’ normal until the fuel runs out two hours before destination. From that point, all hell breaks lose and sheer terror overwhelms the passengers—with an unknown crash ending.

Last week, Dr. Condi Rice, much lauded cerebral administrator in the Bush administration gave a speech in which she said, “The American economy is solid, vital and growing…it moves forward with healthy growth.”

In reality, that means adding 3.1 million people to the USA annually of which 2.1 million arrive via immigration.

Rice like McCain, Obama, Romney, Edwards, Giuliani, Huckabee and Clinton predicate their campaigns for the presidency on population growth to gain economic growth. What they don’t admit nor will any of them come to terms with–stems from the fact that ‘growth’ creates our ominous unsustainable future.

Walter Youngquist said,“As we go from this happy hydrocarbon bubble we have reached now to a renewable energy resource economy, which we do this century, will the “civil” part of civilization survive? As we both know there is no way that alternative energy sources can supply the amount of per capita energy we enjoy now, much less for the 9.2 billion expected by 2050. And energy is what keeps this game going. We are involved in a Faustian bargain—selling our economic souls for the luxurious life of the moment, but sooner or later the price has to be paid.”

“I’m going to break out that old saw of growth again today for those who may have forgotten what the real problem is,” Folkerth said. “The U.S. economy and your paycheck are based on this outfit growing every year in relation to what it grew last year. The term for this type of growth is “exponential” or ever expanding. In a world that stays the same size, the other word for our growth model is: impossible!

To paint a vivid picture of this misguided venture, shall we take a look at a microcosm of the U.S. economy?

“Once upon a time, a small town was founded on the banks of a large lake,” Folkerth said. “A stream fed the lake that averaged 100 gallons per minute of water flowing in. On the other end of the lake, a stream flowed out and the trees and critters downstream benefited from that outflow.

“The new town bought a pump that produced 50 gallons per minute in order to feed the needs of the growing community. At that point, the outflow stream slowed, but continued to flow at 50 gallons per minute and minimal negative effect was noticed.

“The “New Town” proved a popular place and followed the coveted U.S. model for growth, which has historically been unhampered by such restraints as math, reality and long term planning. Stores and subdivisions popped up like spring dandelions, lawns watered and cars washed. Managers purchased a second 50 gallon per minute pump to meet the growing demand.

“The two pumps now equaled the total inflow, and the outflow stream stopped flowing. The trees, plants and aquaculture downstream died off, but…the lake remained full. The town thrived and the builders and store keepers made handsome profits; the American Dream materialized on every new street. The dead trees downstream were cut for lumber and everything in nature balanced out.

“New Town continued growing and the public works director requisitioned a third 50 gallon per minute pump. One bright member of the town council, who had demonstrated exceptional skills at 8th grade math, pointed out that the three pumps were now pumping 50 gallons more per hour than the inflow rate of the stream.

“Naturally, a committee was formed comprising of the town’s most successful merchants, builders and manufacturers to study the problem. It was determined that under the present rate of growth, the lake would not go dry for 50 years. The average age of those on the committee was 50.”

The final findings and recommendations of the committee were; we don’t have a problem, it’s a big lake!

To bring it into environmental terms: Tell this same story to the residents of Atlanta, Georgia who depend on the current-day disaster of Lake Lanier that dried up several months ago leaving them in a water crisis.

“Silly little story huh?” Folkerth said. “Replace the inflow water in that lake with oil, timber, natural gas, clean air, copper ore, iron ore, fisheries, productive farm land, and every other finite natural resource on earth. Reality? The lake is drying up fast and the outflow of the now dry stream represents good U.S. jobs.

“That is where we find ourselves isn’t it? U.S. jobs that pay a living wage that would support our current living standards have dried up. And, you may have noticed that no one has a plan to change that. Rhetoric yes, a plan; nada!

“Math is the exact science and 100 gallons in and 150 gallons out, equals a sum total of negative 50 gallons available for future job creation. But, as Greg Easterbrook said, “Torture numbers and they’ll confess to anything.” The numbers are being “water-boarded” in Washington as we speak. So here we are all dressed up and no place to go.”

As I read Folkerth’s book, it dawned on me that Condi Rice, Greenspan (now retired), Bush, Congress and our presidential candidates either don’t know the facts, don’t understand our predicament or won’t explain the truth—or, they are just plain stupid. Even worse, the America people stupidly believe those leaders.

While we pile 2.1 million more immigrant people into this country annually: 1. We’ve outsourced, insourced and offshored over 3.1 million of American jobs. 2. We jack-up consumption while we jack-down manufacturing jobs. 3. We borrow $2 billion daily from foreign investors to float our false economy while we spend $3 billion a week in Iraq and Afghanistan. 4. We suffer a $9,240.00 balance on the average credit card holder in this country while we witness a $2 trillion consumer debt. 5. We spend $1 trillion annually on 700 military bases worldwide with 572,000 military personnel around the world while we watch our own borders being invaded by thousands nightly. 6. We watch $100 a barrel oil prices with no U.S. energy policy of any kind. 7. The U.S. federal debt stands at $8.8 trillion with no plan for dealing with it. 8. Lake Lanier, Georgia’s current water crisis illustrates the kind of environmental future we all face via unending growth.

“Growth is the most dangerous word in the 21st century.

WHAT’S THE FAIREST THING AMERICA CAN DO FOR ILLEGAL ALIENS?

By Joe Falco

Joe’s arguments here are some of the best!

Illegal immigration is a sore spot in America; illegal aliens are crossing our borders at an alarming rate, activists want to fling our borders open and give social services to anyone who requests them. The national debate on illegal aliens is creating another conundrum and the answer to the problem is slipping away. My question is – what’s wrong with the laws we already have on the books? America’s immigration policy is over a hundred years old. We have protocols in place for foreigners to come here legally. These laws, policies, and protocols have worked well for a very long time. I believe the problem lies with the way these laws are interpreted and enforced, or as many contend not enforced.

So who’s right? Should we create new laws that supplant the laws already on the books, should we ignore the laws, should we all have a group hug, a good cry, and put the whole world on welfare?

I keep hearing the word fair being bandied about. Okay, let us examine the fairness argument. Illegal alien advocates are saying it’s not fair to deny illegal aliens the opportunity to cross our borders and it’s not fair to bar illegal aliens from obtaining social services once they’re here. Based on the doctrine of fairness, we must determine who isn’t being treated fairly. For that, we have to look at the American taxpayer, we have to look at our over-burdened social services system, and we have to look at the job market. The question is this, is it fair for American taxpayers to be ripped off by people who break the law to come here? Is it fair for America’s poor to be denied benefits because illegal aliens are sucking the system dry, is it fair to America’s lower wage workers to be denied a higher wage because the low end labor market is flooded with illegal aliens who will work for sub-standard wages?. Is it fair to foreigners who follow the rules and remain on long waiting lists to enter America?

So far, it doesn’t seem fair at all does it? That is unless you believe lawbreakers deserve special favors. Unless you believe, the rest of us should pay the cost of those favors with our hard-earned tax dollars. What’s fair about any of this? It’s not fair to American citizens, and when it comes to fairness in America shouldn’t American citizens be at the top of the fairness food chain?

Since when is it okay to put non-Americans ahead of Americans? Is it fair to Americans to have our laws violated? Isn’t it wrong to have people break our laws by sneaking into our country? Will illegal aliens who sneak in to America respect any of our laws? Most likely not!

Currently, illegal aliens are breaking many of our laws: they drive without licenses and insurance, they commit fraud by stealing American citizen’s identities, they violate our tax laws, they work without green cards, and many are involved in the drug trade. Many illegal aliens have no respect for America, our culture, or our laws. They see America as a cash cow, a place they can sneak into, work off the books, and send money home. Last year illegal aliens sent over 16 billion dollars back to their homelands. That’s 16 billion taken out of America’s economy, is that fair? What about anchor children? Anchor children are children born to illegal aliens on American soil—and once the child is born, the child and its parents get a free ride on the social services train. Is that fair?

Today’s illegal aliens are not the same as the immigrants who passed through Ellis Island in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The goals of these two immigrant groups are very different. The Ellis Island immigrants left everything they had to come here. They did not intend to return to the old country, they came here to be Americans. They looked to assimilate into the American culture. There were no social services, there were no advocates, and there were no special laws or privileges for them. All there was, was an opportunity to work hard, overcome adversity, learn the language and the culture, and prepare their children to be more American then they were. The Ellis Island immigrants came to America to help build this nation while building a better life for themselves and their families. They came here with little more than hope and faith. Hope of a better life and faith that America would give them an opportunity to be Americans and benefit from all things American. Sadly this is not the case with today’s illegal aliens, the new immigrants are coming to America to see what they can take rather than give. In other words, they come to see what America can do for them, not what they can do for America.

The fairest thing America can do for illegal aliens is to find them and deport them, and deny them any and all social services. America needs to seal its porous borders so no more will risk the dangers of sneaking into our country. This is the fairest solution to this problem. It’s fair to all Americans, and it’s fair to illegal aliens. What’s unfair to everyone is to ignore our immigration laws and allow illegal immigration to continue. The latest estimates on the number of illegal aliens in America is 20 million. Tell me—is that fair? I think not!

And that’s the way I see it.

Joe Falco

Private Sector Organization Assists Border Patrol and Citizen Watch Groups In Securing America

San Diego, CA—The Border Patrol Auxiliary (BPAUX) announced today a membership drive to encourage US Citizens or Naturalized Americans to participate in the private sector effort to secure America. The Border Patrol Auxiliary is a private non- profit 501C-3 Association affiliated with the Homeland Security Policy Institute Group. BPAUX is not a government agency but an organization dedicated to Homeland Security and in involving Americans in the security of their own country.

Bringing the private citizen into the effort is an ongoing policy of the Department of Homeland Security and DHS supports citizens and citizen watch groups by offering training. BPAUX will provide that training and a coordinated link between the citizen and DHS. Additionally BPAUX will provide training and support for local Disaster Preparedness Programs.

“We wanted to find a way that Citizen Watch Groups could become properly trained in border watch activities and more actively involved in the entire homeland security process. The DHS Certified Training for Citizen Watch Groups is the answer and BPAUX will be offering it nationwide” noted Ken Dreger BPAUX Leader. “In addition, our leadership has more than 125,000 hours of border watch experience and have developed a solid working relationship with BP and DHS. Some members are former Border Patrol Agents themselves.” he added.

Members can participate in a wide variety of activities and living on or near the US Borders is not a requirement. BPAUX has a Nationwide BPAUX CYBERWATCH program where members can surf the web looking for threats to the country and forward that information to a central threat center for dissemination to DHS. Cyber Watchers can also monitor Border Cams and report incursions to the threat center as well.

A Marine Division is in the works whereby members can watch waterways in border areas for unusual activity and report that activity to Border Patrol. Many areas like San Diego, Texas and Florida as well as northern Border States report daily incursions. Members will be required to complete Coast Guard Boater Safety Training as well as specialized BPAUX training.

A Light Air Wing for Ultra-Lite enthusiasts, Disaster Preparedness and Civil Defense Training as well as boots on the ground border watch efforts round out the BPAUX activities.

“There are more than 300 citizen border watch groups in this country today. Our goal is to provide proper training and a coordinated effort to maximize their effectiveness. This is a non-political, synergistic approach to border security. We applaud those citizen watch groups who have taken the bold step to bring about significant change. This is not about competing but more about bringing a collective national voice to their efforts.” reported Carl Braun, BPAUX Leader. “This is a great way to work with BP and DHS in a semi-official capacity.” he added.

Prospective members must successfully complete a felony background check provided by BPAUX and be interviewed to ensure no racist, bigoted, nativist or xenophobic tendencies or beliefs are exhibited. About Homeland Security Policy Institute Group
In response to national security directives, the non-profit Homeland Security Policy Institute Group works to improve opportunities and methods for cooperative action between the private and public sectors in Homeland Security applications. As differentiated from National Security, the federal government alone cannot accomplish the paradigm of Homeland Security. In the United States, more than 80% of the critical infrastructure is in the private sector. Critical infrastructure provides the foundation for our national security, governance, and economic vitality, and way of life.
Our protection from and response to terrorism requires coordination between public sector agencies and private sector businesses. While the need for coordination between the public and private sectors is powerfully stated in national strategy documents, few private sector collaborative activities have occurred. The private sector has not organized within itself nor coordinated with the public sector. HSPIG has recognized that the lack of private sector organization, preparation, and training has limited this essential private-public collaborating necessary to counter and respond to terrorism.
As a privately funded non-profit organization, HSPIG retains a Private sector orientation including rapid response to change and sensitivity to resource and cost concerns.

Americans Want New Presidential Blood, not ‘Retreads!’

Despite consistent polls showing that 70-80% of Americans want immigration laws enforced and the border secured, most 2008 Presidential hopefuls pay no attention to Americans at all. Candidates like Guiliani, Romney and McCain are nothing but “Retreads” parroting the tired Bush Party Line telling ad nauseum the hardships faced by illegal aliens living in the US, and insist on forcing amnesty for illegals on resisting Americans.

Of course, Retread candidates don’t call them illegal aliens–they use “undocumented immigrants” or “unauthorized workers” or some other sympathy-generating politically-correct and politically-expedient term. Even George Bush in Tuesday’s SOTU speech still clings to oxymoron terms like “illegal immigrants.” (And how can an immigrant–who by definition in federal immigration law 8 USC 1101 has a valid visa–be “illegal?”)

Retreads carefully evade mentioning the damage done to middle and low-income Americans by the illegal alien invasion. (Yes Virginia, that’s what it really is–an invasion. The 5,000 illegal aliens daily breaking into the US equal a regiment, and each month it’s the equivalent of a field army. That’s more troops than we have in Iraq or that landed in Normandy on D-Day in 1944!).

George Bush only spoke of “hope and opportunity” and didn’t mention the collapsing emergency rooms illegal aliens use for their FREE primary medical care, the public schools buckling to accommodate their children, or the increasing tax burden for illegal aliens forced on middle-income Americans who gain nothing from this illegal alien invasion.

Nor did Bush refer to the increasing social unrest that he promotes by ignoring the wishes of Americans in forcing us to accept his plan of amnesty for these illegal alien invaders. He wants a debate that’s “serious, civil, and conclusive.” But Americans aren’t fooled by this whining and sniveling either. They know that the Retreads’ calls for “civility” are aimed only at Americans who disagree with their illegal alien amnesty plan, and their real meaning is “Shut up, because we don’t want to hear it. We’ve made the decision and you have nothing to say about it.” Retreads weren’t calling for “civility” when 100,000 illegal aliens shut down the Chicago Loop at Friday rush hour waving their Mexican flags demanding “rights” and telling Americans “This is our land–go back to Europe.”

It’s an outrage that Retreads intentionally malign and defame American men and women whose only “offense” is publicly identifying and discussing the problem of illegal immigration as a historic national crisis. Retreads may fool themselves but they don’t deceive Americans. That’s why the average American voter is ecstatic that Congressmen Duncan Hunter, Ron Paul and Tom Tancredo have entered the 2008 Presidential race. They know these three statesmen will insist that the immigration issue (both legal and illegal) be recognized and addressed as a top issue in the Republican Party’s platform. Three cheers to Hunter, Paul and Tancredo!

Americans demand an acknowledgment and resolution of the illegal immigration issue, and have lost patience with Retreads’ repeatedly and arrogantly putting aside their best interests in favor of big business and ethnic lobbies. Politicians like George Bush, Ted Kennedy, John McCain and their cronies will be responsible for civil unrest likely to produce violence and even bloodshed, both from Americans graduating from “frustration” to “anger” as well as from illegal aliens with an inherent disregard for the rule of law. Responsibility will fall on those who continually told Americans (in effect) to “Shut up because we’re going to do what we want and not what serves citizens’ interests.”

While on the surface it may appear that each side of the aisle has a different “master,” (Republicans serving global business’ demands for cheap labor vs. Democrats seeking the “cheap votes” from ethnic lobbies), the reality is that they’re both in bed together. Examination of donor lists of LULAC, MALDEF and other ethnic lobbies reveals the multi-national corporations who traditionally demand that Republicans deliver cheap labor.

In 2008, we must give “the boot” to these “Retreads” who refuse to represent “We the People.” These worthless hacks are easy to recognize; unknowns don’t achieve Presidential candidacy. These “retreads” who ignore citizens’ opinions and interests have a clear track record of easily identified red flags:

  • Retreads refuse to call the invaders what they are: illegal aliens. Instead, they choose diluted, politically-correct and pandering terms like “undocumented migrants” and “unauthorized workers.” Examples include Senator John McCain who “prefers the term illegal immigrant” (1) in precise lock-step with George Bush’s 2007 SOTU speech. Similar panderers abound on the opposite side of the aisle: Ted Kennedy, Hillary Clinton, John Edwards, John Kerry are Democratic Retreads who parrot the snake oil pitch that illegal aliens are valuable “citizens” of the US instead of the lawbreakers they are.
  • Retreads call for “civil” discussion. Again, John McCain is strict obedience to the George Bush dictates reflected in the 2007 State of the Union address. (1) (Interestingly, McCain’s whining to “tone down the debate” followed a Town Hall the previous evening in Sun Lakes, AZ where all who attended rejected the McCain-Kennedy “not an amnesty” bill. If any of the 1500 people in attendance supported the “Godfather of Amensty’s” proposal, they remained silent that night.(3) Next morning came McCain’s sniveling call for “toning down the debate.”)
  • Retread John McCain has legitimately earned his reputation for arrogance. While organizing and leading “congressional visiting teams” during the May 2006 Senatorial Amnesty passage, I personally saw the self-built shrine in his Phoenix district office lobby. Politicians often display photos of themselves with other important people to impress visitors, but not John McCain. One entire wall of the office lobby is covered floor-to-ceiling with framed magazine covers upon which McCain’s picture commands sole place on the cover!

Even I was amazed when office manager Babette Donaldson told of the 100,000-letter backlog of letters on the immigration issue that McCain’s Washington office faced. There’s no doubt that the prevailing message in those letters ISN’T “Senator, you’re doing a wonderful job with your bill giving amnesty to illegal aliens and another guest worker plan that gives workers and their families Medicare coverage” (and why does McCain need to bring non-working spouses and children to get work done “that Americans won’t do?”)

Voters don’t behave like that; they write primarily when they oppose a politician’s bills. Yet knowing that he’ll want the votes of each of the 100,000 Americans who wrote those letters and e-mails, “Godfather of Amnesty” McCain arrogantly continues to force illegal alien amnesty on Americans.

  • Newspapers who copy and praise Retreads’ behavior should also be rejected as credible sources of accurate reporting. The brave few like Lou Dobbs who are marginalized by the ethnic and open borders lobbies are actually the only sources of what really happens and why. Nearly 8 months after the disgraceful conviction of two honest and brave Border Patrol agents for doing their job of intercepting an illegal alien drug smuggler, no national news network and few newspapers have reported the story the Bush Administration wants hushed up.
  • Retreads pander to racism with membership in congressional caucuses geared to ethnic bias rather than ideology should be rejected as demagogues and worse. Examples are the Congressional Black Caucus, (Democratic) Hispanic Caucus and (Republican) Hispanic Caucus and the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus. That such organizations claim “being black is an unwritten rule” or admit non-Hispanics as “associate members” (translated second-class members) would provoke a firestorm of condemnation if practiced by “white” counterparts.
  • Can you imagine a “Congressional Anglo-European Caucus” where Black, Hispanic or Asian member of Congress were “associate” instead of “full” status? The clear message sent by members of such caucus groups is “racism is OK so long as ‘whites’ are excluded” That It’s NOT OK must be shouted loud and clear by Americans–black, brown, red, white and yellow.
  • Retreads’ calls for “civility” are no more than the “Can’t we all just get along?” cries of the liberal side of the open-borders lobby. Considering that such liberals established and perpetuate such ethnic caucus groups, the liberals have answered their own question–they don’t want to “get along” with anyone and their cries are both hypocriticals as well as whining and sniveling. Their “Can’t we all just get along?” brands them as crybabies.
  • Reject “white” politicians who accommodate such racists by being “keynote speakers” at racist organizations, extolling racist agendas of groups like National Council of LaRaza, League of United Latin-American Citizens and the like. Again, such disgraceful behavior spans both sides of the aisle: George Bush, John McCain, Ted Kennedy, HIllary Clinton, John Kerry and many others whose lack of integrity or ethnics allow them to obsequiously seek votes at any pandering price.
  • Americans have had enough of illegal aliens being given our economic and natural resources while “Retread” politicians send the bill to law-abiding citizens. The President and Congress who have refused to enforce our immigration laws are responsible for the overpopulation and urban sprawl that bankrupts every law-abiding American citizen and legal immigrant. These politicians give “cheap labor” to big business and send the subsidy bill to taxpayers.

Let every cheap and pandering Retread politician beware that Americans increasingly and unashamedly reflect the spirit of Howard Jarvis who led California’s 1978 taxpayer revolt in shouting “we’re mad as hell and we won’t take it anymore!”

Spineless politicians ignore citizen outrage at their own political peril, much as did Congressman Jim Kolbe of Arizona, who voluntarily retired rather than face the humiliation of a “voters’ pink slip.”

Americans have a country to save. Let’s roll!
